Sebal namul muchim (세발나물 무침) is a simple dish made with lightly seasoned salt marsh greens.

It highlights texture rather than strong flavor.

Ingredients

  • sebal namul (세발나물)
  • garlic (마늘)
  • sesame oil (참기름)
  • sesame (참깨)
  • salt (소금)

Keep the seasoning minimal.

Preparation

  1. Lightly blanch the sebal namul
  2. Drain well
  3. Mix with all the ingredients

A Note on Salt

Sebal namul naturally contains a slight salinity.

Do not over-season.

A small amount of salt is enough.

A Note on Flavor

This is not a bold dish.

  • no strong spice
  • no heavy sauce

Just clean, light, and fresh.

Texture

  • crisp
  • juicy
  • delicate

The texture is the main focus.

Why It Matters

Sebal namul is not about flavor intensity.

It is about restraint.

A Note on Simplicity

Too much seasoning will ruin it.

Garlic should be minimal.

Salt should be careful.
